Singapore Watermark Awards (SWMA)
The SWMA is the nation’s highest accolade that honours organisations for their exemplary leadership and outstanding achievements in advancing the water sustainability agenda in Singapore.

The award is given only to the top organisations in Singapore which demonstrate a strong commitment to their water management, sustained efforts in water use, innovation in water conservation initiatives, and active engagement of the community to advocate and catalyse action and support for the water cause.

Nominations for SWMA are open to all organisations, including industrial water users (e.g., private companies, businesses), schools and town councils, and can be made through either self-nomination or through a third-party nomination.

Water Efficiency Awards (WEA)
The WEA is a biennial award which recognises the top 10 percentile of water efficient performers in the respective sectors. The best performers in each sector refer to premises with the lowest Water Efficiency Index (WEI) or industrial plants with the highest water recycling rates.

New Category Under WEA
Under WEA, a new category – the WEA (Projects) has been introduced to recognise innovative projects that demonstrate remarkable improvements in their water efficiency and raise the industry benchmark. Nominations for WEA (Projects) 2024 are open to all organisations, including non-domestic industrial water users (e.g., private companies, businesses), schools and town councils, with water efficiency projects commissioned between 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2022.

Submission Guidelines for the Singapore Watermark Awards

Eligibility

A valid nominee for the Singapore Watermark Awards should be an organisation who has made major contributions towards water sustainability in Singapore.
Nominated organisations must be registered in Singapore. Organisations refers to entities registered with ACRA, Education Institutions, and Town Councils.
Organisations are invited to submit their applications while external parties (such as partner organisations, government agencies, etc.) may also nominate an organisation that you think is deserving of the award.

Selection Process

All nominations will be reviewed by a Selection Committee, consisting of prominent thought leaders, distinguished academics and water experts from the public and private sectors. Nominations will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Performance – Demonstrated efforts and quantifiable results in the efficient use of water
Advocacy/Influence – Created positive changes to water conservation through implemented policies, programmes, or outreach activities
Innovativeness – Incorporated innovative services, programmes, processes or new technologies to reduce water use or promote water recycling
Sustainability Reporting – Organisations who have published their water efficiency goals and plans will be allocated bonus points.

Submission Guidelines for the WEA (Projects)

Eligibility

A valid nominee for the WEA (Projects) 2024 should be a project commissioned between 1 Jan 2019 to 31 Dec 2022, which have achieved exceptional, significant, measurable water efficiency improvements with successful operation of the project, and in accordance with all regulatory requirements in Singapore.
The Organisation benefitted from the nominated project (with measurable water efficiency improvements) must be registered in Singapore. Organisation refers to entities registered with ACRA, Education Institutions, and Town Councils
Organisations are invited to submit their applications while third parties (such as partner organisations, government agencies, etc.) may also nominate an organisation by submitting the application.

Selection Criteria
All nominations will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Performance – Demonstrate efforts and quantifiable results in the reduction of water demand from PUB, increased recycled water from within the plants/premise and reduced costs and demonstrable return on investment.
Innovativeness – Demonstrate innovative use of technology, process improvements to reduce water use or promote recycling.
Project Leadership - Demonstrate collaborative efforts to overcome unexpected obstacles and challenges.
Success of the Project - Demonstrate successful operation of the project, in accordance with all regulatory requirements.

Nominations for the Singapore Watermark Awards and Water Efficiency Awards (Projects) 2024 opens 15 August 2023. All submissions must be submitted by 30 September 2023 (now extended to 15 October 2023!), through the online portal: https://go.gov.sg/swma-nominationportal

1. Softcopies of the completed nomination form(s) for the corresponding award(s) you are submitting a nomination for. Please download the nomination form(s) here:

2. Other supporting documents, e.g. prospectus/write-up of the nominated organisation, press releases, photographs, collaterals (please ensure that all supporting documents are referenced to the relevant nomination sections)

Please note that the submission has to be completed once you proceed. You will not be able to save your submission and come back to it later. Once the nomination is submitted, it cannot be edited further.

Recipients of the Singapore Watermark Awards and the Water Efficiency Awards (Projects) will be informed by December 2023. The award ceremony will take place in March 2024.
