SGF Hort Show 2021 Banner

This year’s SGF Hort Show will run from 9 to 31 October 2021, with a wide array of online activities this year, including a variety of talks and demonstrations as well as an e-marketplace to enable members of the public to shop from the comfort of their homes. Photos and videos of the winning competition plants will also be hosted on this webpage for you to appreciate their beauty.

All slots for the SGF Hort Show at the Jurong Lake Gardens (at The Oval near South Carpark) have been taken up. Click here for more information on our online programmes

Kindly check the Safe Distance @ Parks portal (safedistparks.nparks.gov.sg) for the latest updates on visitorship levels before heading to both Gardens. We request all visitors to be socially responsible and observe safe management measures such as keeping to the permitted group size, and to wear a mask except when engaging in strenuous exercises or consuming food, drink or medication, to keep our green spaces safe for everyone.

Key highlights at Singapore Botanic Gardens from 9 – 17 October 2021

  • Horticultural Competition (9 – 13 October 2021) comprising the Best Show Plants across nine categories cultivated by professionals and amateurs vying for Prestigious Awards, Medals and the Grand Prize, the City in Nature Challenge Cup!

  • Horticultural Display (14 – 17 October 2021) showcasing uncommon, unusual and unique plants in the National Parks Board's Pasir Panjang Nursery collection, which will be sure to excite all gardening enthusiasts!
  • Orchid Competition (9 – 17 October 2021), organised in partnership with the Orchid Society of South East Asia, will feature the region’s best orchid plants competing for heritage trophies as well as award-winning orchid varieties.

  • Vertical Greenery Competition featuring unique creations of 36 square metres each designed by professionals from Singapore’s landscape industry based on the theme of “Into the next dimension”

  • Balcony Gardens Competition hopes to inspire you to transform your own balcony into a magical garden retreat.

  • Nano Tank Aquascaping Competition & Aquascaping Displays where visitors can feast their eyes on beautiful underwater garden landscapes based on the theme of “Nature Meets Water”.

  • Bonsai Exhibition and Competition will showcase a wide collection of bonsai, landscaping and natural stones.

  • Community Garden Edibles Competition will have three main categories for participation – the longest fruit or vegetable (cucumber, lady’s finger, luffa, snake gourd and sword bean), the heaviest fruit or vegetable (cauliflower, cherry tomato, pumpkin, radish and winter melon) and an open category for unusual or uncommon fruits or vegetables.
