ABOUT
  • In line with World Environment Day and World Ocean Day, #SeasTheDay beach clean up goes islandwide and international on 5 JUNE! Along with international partners in Indonesia, Europe, Japan, Africa, United States and Brazil, Seize The Day with us in the upcoming islandwide clean up at 5 locations islandwide to clear the debris and flotsam that were brought onto our shores due to the Southwest Monsoon. Learn more about the issues of marine debris, its effect on marine life and the environment as we clean up our shores! 

     

    Happening across 5 different locations: Changi Beach/East Coast Park/Sembawang Beach/Pasir Ris Park and Coney Island, note that each volunteer can only sign up for ONE location as the clean-ups at the 5 islandwide localities are happening concurrently.

    Volunteers will be equipped with tools for the clean-up and therefore need not bring your own. Safe distancing guidelines will be implemented to ensure the safety of all our volunteers. Do note that a fully vaccinated status is required to join the event. More details about the event will be shared after your registration is successful (i.e., receiving both a system confirmation prompt AND a confirmation email of registration by us at YCS Sustainability Cluster)

    This event is organised by Youth Corps Singapore Sustainability Cluster, and supported by PAssion WaVe @ East Coast and Public Hygiene Council’s CleanPod @ East Coast Park.

Volunteer

Volunteers will head out to the identified hot spots along the beach by foot where they will be provided with the necessary equipment to clear the beaches of man-made marine debris. A pre-activity briefing will be conducted before the start of the session.

 

The clean up will be from 9.30am - 12.15pm on 5 June, Sunday. There will be multiple teams per locality. Each team will be made up of 9 volunteers, and there will be an estimated 5 pax on the waitlist per locality.

Please report to the event venue 10 minutes prior to the session.

 

*Please confirm your availability before applying for the volunteering slot. If you are unable to attend the session after applying, kindly inform us immediately so that we can release your slot to other volunteers.

An email will be sent to you to inform you about the status of your registration. You will receive either a confirmation email or email indicating that you are put on the waitlist. Do note that an auto generated email from the volunteer.sg portal does NOT represent a confirmation of your registration.
