Vote for your SAV 160th Anniversary Logo Design
The St Andrew’s Schools are commemorating our 160th Anniversary this year. The theme for our celebrations is “Keep the flame burning brightly ever!” It highlights how St. Andrew’s Schools have been a light and a fire for the community through the years, and challenges our present and future generations of Saints to similarly be a blessing and bring life to the Nations.

To kickstart our celebrations, St Andrew’s Junior School, St Andrew’s Secondary School and St Andrew’s Junior College have organised our first joint competition “SAV 160th Anniversary Logo Design”. We hope that through this joint competition of designing and voting for the SAV 160th Anniversary Logo, our Saints will feel the pride of being a part of St Andrew’s Schools.

The school leaders of the 3 schools would like to invite you to also join us in this celebration by casting your vote for your favourite design of the “SAV 160th Anniversary Logo.” Each of the school has submitted 3 designs and the design of the overall winner will be used in all of our SAV 160th Anniversary celebrations and memorabilia. Each school will also select the top, second and third placing at their respective school level.

Voting starts on 12 March and ends on 20 March. Don’t wait any longer! Join the celebration by clicking on this link https://go.gov.sg/sav160vote to cast your vote as ONE FAMILY UNBROKEN!

My logo is crafted in the same shape of the school crest to spark familiarity and relatedness to the school. It consists of the unique icons that make up St Andrew's, including the keys to knowledge, the motto, Up and On, the adage, Once a saint, Always a saint, the TRUE WISE values. My logo also consists of symbol of Fire to represent the theme of 160th Anniversary - Keep the Flame Burning Brightly Ever.

My logo is an abstract work of a tiger which represents courage and determination. The colourful stripes speak of the opportunities and challenges that one must go through to keep our flame burning bright. The number ‘160’ is across the upper body, moving towards the tiger’s face, indicating that we are ready to face whatever life brings and to keep up the good fight.

My logo represents the spirit of a Saint going through a tough time. The tiger jumping over the flame depicts the challenges that we have been through, and our determination to brave through what life brings to us. May our flame keep burning brightly ever, in many years to come.

The logo took a really long time to make. I thought it would be a good design as it was simple but still looks really nice. As Leonardo Da Vinci said "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"

I designed this logo with basically no thinking at the start. I wanted to experiment and see what I could add without over cluttering or making it far too simple. I drew out the school crest in the background, with a large 160 in front of it as it is one of the main vocal points of the logo. I drew the character standing on top of the 160 as it was a doodle that I did a while back and my friends seemed to like him. Hence I drew him in as he represented the friendship and ‘one family unbroken’. The confetti is to represent the sparks that start a f ire, which follows though with the theme of ‘keep the flame burning brightly ever’.

The Logo displays a roaring Tiger - Saint Andrews mascot, made of fire to show the ever-burning flame to signify the energy of our culture and the passion of our village. The used of red colour on SAV symbolized fortune and prosperity due to the year of tiger in 2022 and the warm burning heart of our spirit are continuously shining forever.

This is a simple logo design with the school’s signature navy blue used for the font. The candle was placed in the O so that it could be the focus of this logo. The candle is meant to compliment the theme ‘keep the flame burning brightly ever’. At the sides of the candle it can be seen that some of the wax has melted along the sides which shows that the candle has been burning for quite some time. This symbolises the 160 year long history for saints.

I decided to draw a tiger (the school mascot) emerging in a burst of fames due to the theme.
I believe the flames are a symbol of the passion and never-give-up attitude of Saints, thus I decided to merge it with a tiger, representing the courage and lighting spirit of the students in SAV. Furthermore, the bright orange highlights how brilliantly and brightly the students shine. Lastly, the deep blue of the “SAV” reflects the depth of the Saints’ character, while the light blue portrays the lighthearted nature in which the students enjoy their time here in SAV.

The SAV bridge known to link the different St. Andrew schools together has continuously been a key element of my time in School. From training across the canal to attempting to peek into the other schools through the turnstiles, it’s been both a physical and metaphorical line of interconnectedness to the rest of SAV; representing the close ties of SAV and its unshakable unity. Thus I've chose to use the emblematic and iconic SAV Bridge as a means of commemorating an equally significant celebration— one which keeps the SA fame burning brightly ever.
