Dive into nature's mesmerising patterns with RIPPLE, a collaborative project by Genevieve Chua – a painter based in London and Singapore – and neontights – a full-time design collective – on display during Singapore Art Week 2024 at Jurong Lake Gardens.

RIPPLE draws inspiration from the abundant botanical marvels of Singapore and invites viewers to explore their emotions amidst the backdrop of Singapore’s vibrant botany, fostering empathy and understanding.

Jurong Lake Gardens is part of the National Arts Council’s Arts and Culture Nodes Network. RIPPLE is presented as part of Singapore Art Week 2024 and will be on display at the Entrance Pavilion at Jurong Lake Gardens from 19 January to 25 February 2024 and in Singapore Botanic Gardens from 1 to 24 March 2024. Wader Watch 13 Jan (Sat), 9am – 11am
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Wetland Centre Come celebrate the return of the migratory shorebirds! After enduring a long and harsh journey of almost ten thousand kilometres over mountains and seas, the migratory shorebirds have arrived in Singapore from far-flung locations like the Siberian and Tibetan plateaus. ‘Wader Watch’ is one of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve’s signature workshops, where you can learn how to identify our feathered friends! This workshop will cover an introduction to these birds, followed by a birdwatching session around the Reserve where you can hone your newly acquired skills.

Coco and Friends 13 Jan (Sat), 9:30am- 10:30am
Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Seminar/Meeting Room $10/child (for nature kit consisting of a nature journal, crayons and sling bag) Let your children embark on a nature adventure learning about Coco the Malayan Colugo and his forest friends at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve/Hindhede Nature Park! Registration is required. Suitable for children from K1 to P2.

Gardeners’ Day Out 20 Jan (Sat), 9am – 3pm
HortPark, Multi-Purpose Hall & Exhibition Gallery Look forward to a series of exciting talks, workshops and guided tours at HortPark every 3^rd Saturday of the month! Bring your own reusable bags and start shopping for your favourite plants and gardening materials at the MarketPlace.

Guided walk at Lim Chu Kang/
Cashin House 20 Jan (Sat), 9am – 10:30am
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve,
Visitor Centre Start your morning with a family friendly walk at ulu Lim Chu Kang. Let our volunteer guide take you through remnants of rubber plantations, Lim Chu Kang mangroves, the Cashin House and spot some wildlife along the way. Registration is required and opens on 12 Jan (Fri) at 8am.

Arts@HortPark – Make a Mangosteen Artwork in Graphite Pencil 20 Jan (Sat), 12pm – 3pm
HortPark, Fruit Room Let your creative juices flow! Discover the art of botanical illustration in this workshop, led by local artist Kelly Bassett from the Botanical Art Society (Singapore) (BASS). Embrace your creativity at this beginner-level session, where all materials are provided for a hassle-free experience. Join us for an immersive journey into the world of botanical artistry and bring the beauty of mangosteen to life on paper. Registration is required and opens on 5 Jan 2024 (Fri) at 10am.

Heritage on the Hill Guided Tour 27 Jan (Sat), 9am – 11am
Fort Canning Park, Fort Canning Centre Did you know that the history of Fort Canning dates back to the 14th century? Check out the ancient artefacts from the hill, and join us on a journey that highlights the changing faces of Fort Canning, from the ancient 14th century to the colonial 19th century and beyond!
