National Cyber Wellness Competition 2024

Theme: Be Smart Online!

The NCW 2024 is a national poster competition, centred around Cyber Wellness themes, supported by the Media Literacy Council (MLC).

What do we want to achieve?

We hope to build a Digital Utopia with you. What is a digital utopia? It is a perfect online environment where people can responsibly interact and express their ideas and opinions online. It is a positive space where sharing information and ideas can occur safely. Join us as we envision the creation of a positive and ideal digital world!

How can we create a safe space together?

The creation of a digital utopia and a safe online space is a long and arduous journey. There are many issues that have to be addressed in order to do so. Abusive behaviour and misinformation stemming from the desire to deceive and harm people are some of the many issues that we must combat to create a safe space for one and all.

This year, our competition focus will be on Fake News and we need your help to spread awareness on how to

BE SMART ONLINE!

What is Fake News?

Fake news is the false or misleading information that is presented as real news. It is meant to trick people and can be found on different sources, especially social media. Fake news is not trustworthy, lacks evidence and does not follow proper news standards. Fake News spread easily and can make people doubt the truthfulness of real news.

How can we tackle Fake News?

Fake News is like a plague. It can affect and topple a society if left untreated. The only way we can 'cure' Fake News is to prevent its spread. To curb Fake News, we need your help!
