Our History of the Character Art Exhibition

品德教育美展简史

The Character Art Exhibition, a collaboration with the Hong Wen Alumni Association (宏文校友会), was first launched in November 2011 at The National Library on Victoria Street.

In 2012, the exhibition was moved to library@chinatown, where it was held annually until 2018. The last exhibition took place in March 2020, in conjunction with Hong Wen School and the Hin Ann Huay Kuan (兴安会馆).

In 2021, due to the pandemic, the exhibition was moved online, launching our first online Character Art Gallery.

With the strong support for our online gallery, we will continue to present the artworks both online and at an on-site exhibition at library@chinatown this year. We hope that more students, parents, alumni, and members of the public will have the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the creative works by our students, staff, and alumni.

We look forward to sharing this artistic journey with you and the character values conveyed through art!

品德教育美术展为宏文学校与宏文校友会协手联办，于2011年11月在位于维多利亚街的国家图书馆首次展出。

2012年，品德教育美术展移至牛车水图书馆。此后，美展持续在同一场地展出，直至2018年。2020年3月，为庆祝宏文学校与兴安会馆成立100周年，我们也在此举办了展览。

2021年，由于疫情之故，我校第十届的品德教育美展首次将实体展览以网页的方式呈现。宏文学校的第一个线上艺术画廊就此掀开了序幕。

有鉴于往年线上艺术画廊的形式回响热烈，实体展览和线上艺术画廊仍旧在今年同步展出。此举希望有更多的学生、家长、校友和社会大众能欣赏到既富有创意，又有诚意的作品。

Every child is either demonstrating excellence or on the path toward achieving it.

每一个孩子不是正展现卓越，就是在迈向卓越的路途上

Since 2023, the Character Art Exhibition places emphasis on the school core value of character. Each year, the theme of the exhibition reflects one of the six core values of the school, embodying the values through art.

This year, the focus is on “Excellence”, one of the school core values. Every child has his/her own definition of excellence. Excellence is not limited to being the best but is about striving to achieve one's potential in the pursuit of dreams and goals.

Every child possesses his/her own strengths, some achieving excellence, some on the journey towards achieving excellence. This calls for a celebration. Through the art exhibition, we encourage our children to learn to affirm themselves, and become confident individuals – that Excellence is beyond boundary!

宏文学校品德教育美展从2023年开始回归校本核心价值——品德，以学校六大价值观作为每一年的美展主题，希冀用艺术方式体现学校价值观。

卓越，是今年美展主题，亦是宏文学校价值观之一。

每个孩子都有其独特的“卓越”，卓越并不仅限于成为群体中最好的那个，而是在追求梦想与目标的过程时，孩子能尽其所能去成就自己。

每个孩子都有自己的长处，有些不是正展现卓越，就是在迈向卓越的路途上，都值得被庆祝，我们肯定、看见、爱惜每位孩子的特点。透过美展，鼓励孩子听见自己的心里的卓越，学习肯定自己，成为自信的自己。
