Our History of the Character Art Exhibition

品德教育美展简史

The Character Art Exhibition, a collaboration with the Hong Wen Alumni Association (宏文校友会), was first launched in November 2011 at The National Library (Victoria Street).

In 2012, the Character Art Exhibition was moved to library@chinatown. Since then, the exhibition has been held at the same venue until 2018. The last exhibition took place in March 2020, in conjunction with Hong Wen School and the Hin Ann Huay Kuan (兴安会馆) 100th Anniversary.

In 2021, due to the pandemic, we moved our exhibition online. Thus, starting our first online Character Art Gallery.

In view of the strong support given to our online gallery in the previous years, we will be presenting the artwork online this year, as well as the on-site exhibition at library@chinatown. We hope that more students, parents, alumni as well as the members of the public can get to enjoy and appreciate the creative artwork done by students, staff and alumni.

We look forward to working and improving together, edified by art, exhibited by virtue!

品德教育美术展为宏文学校与宏文校友会协手联办，于2011年11月在位于维多利亚街的国家图书馆首次展出。

2012年，品德教育美术展移至牛车水图书馆。此后，美展持续在同一场地展出，直至2018年。2020年3月，为庆祝宏文学校与兴安会馆成立100周年，我们也在此举办了展览。

2021年，由于疫情之故，我校第十届的品德教育美展首次将实体展览以网页的方式呈现。宏文学校的第一个线上艺术画廊就此掀开了序幕。

有鉴于往年线上艺术画廊的形式回响热烈，实体展览和线上艺术画廊仍旧在今年同步展出。此举希望有更多的学生、家长、校友和社会大众能欣赏到既富有创意，又有诚意的作品。

The theme for CAE 2023

Compassion | 关爱 

From this year, our Character Art Exhibition will focus on our school’s six core values, with one value to be used as the theme annually for the exhibition. For this year, we will adopt the value of "Compassion" as our theme. In their own artistic ways, students not only express their understanding of compassion observed in their everyday lives, but also their creative expressions of compassion in animals and the environment. We hope that our students will maintain a kind and positive mind, and focus on the beauty in others, bringing warmth to themselves and people around them.

Through their artworks, Character Art Exhibition presents the stories of our students, teachers and alumni on what compassion means to them. Together, we continue to instill the value of compassion in our students to build a more compassionate Hong Wen School community.

从今年开始，宏文学校品德教育美展回归核心价值—品德，以学校六大价值观作为每一年的美展主题，希冀用艺术方式体现学校价值观。

关爱，是今年美展主题，亦是宏文学校价值观之一。学生透过艺术创作，表达人们在生活中如何展现关爱，关爱的对象不仅局限于人，还包括动物与环境。透过美展，期许学生能多关注他人美好的一面，保持善良正向的的心，为自己也为他人带来温暖。

学生、教师、校友以作品讲故事，以艺术创作的方式体现关爱的价值观，一同建立宏文学校友善校园的氛围。
