Our inaugural Book Buzz Talk brought together teachers, guest speakers, and book lovers to celebrate the joy of reading. Miss Toh Jirong and Miss Raistlina Kwek from the English Language and Literature Department kicked things off with their favourite reads, sparking curiosity and excitement. Adding to the buzz, we welcomed Miss Joyce Chua, a former Beattyian and accomplished local author who shared her story crafting insights and book recommendations. Ms Rebecca Tan from NLB rounded off the session with an engaging selection of books on the theme of family and friends. From thrilling adventures to thought-provoking tales, there was something for everyone! Ready to dive into a new story? Your next favourite book might be just a recommendation away! #BookBuzzTalk #ReadMore #BeattyReads

  • What does success look like beyond grades and job titles? At Raffles Policy Dialogue 2025, co-organised by Beatty Secondary, Raffles Girls’ School, and Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School, students from over 45 schools came together to explore this evolving question. The panel discussion featured Mr Josephus Tan, who spoke on overcoming stigma in criminal law, Ms Jeanne Liew, who shared diverse success stories from Republic Polytechnic and Ms Chew Wei Shan, who showcased her artistic journey - including insights from Secondary: The Musical as well as a live sharing of her compositions. Beyond listening intently, students were also active participants in shaping the conversation. In breakout sessions, they brainstormed solutions to redefine success in Singapore, facilitated by students from all three organising schools. A standout moment was when a Beattyian boldly stepped forward to ask Ms Chew for advice on thriving in the arts, demonstrating the courage to explore alternative pathways. Through these insightful conversations and interactive discussions, students walked away with a renewed perspective - one that values resilience, passion, and purpose in defining success.

  • Excellence, leadership, and dedication - these are the qualities that define our National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) cadets. Last evening, at the esteemed Home Team Academy, three of our outstanding cadets received the prestigious SPF-NPCC Badge, the highest accolade a cadet can achieve in the NPCC journey. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their commitment to upholding the values of discipline, resilience, and service. We hope their success ignites a spark in our younger cadets, inspiring them to push their limits and strive for excellence. Congratulations to our cadets for this well-deserved honour!

  • Let’s warmly welcome our Secondary One students’ parents to the Parent Support Group (PSG)! The PSG Welcome Tea was an inspiring and enriching session filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and support one another. Kicking off the event was a heartfelt welcome address by our PSG Chairperson and Principal, setting the tone for a supportive and collaborative partnership between the school and parents. Parents were then treated to an insightful school tour, where they took in the rich history, vibrant culture and impressive facilities of the school. This was followed by a sharing session by parents, for parents, where experienced parents discussed the challenges students might face during the transition from primary to secondary school and offered practical tips for supporting their children in this important phase. To all our Secondary One students’ parents, welcome to the Beatty PSG family! Together, let’s create a nurturing and positive environment for our children to thrive in. 💙

  • Despite facing significant health challenges, including a cancer diagnosis at a young age and partial hearing loss in his left ear, Si Kai has not only persevered but has also flourished, inspiring those around him with his pursuit of excellence and commitment to inclusivity. From the outset, Si Kai’s approach to his education has been marked by a remarkable growth mindset. Rather than allowing his health setbacks to become obstacles, he consistently demonstrated a positive learning attitude and receptiveness to feedback, earning praise from his teachers. His commitment to personal growth was evident in his proactive approach to leadership, seeking guidance from his form teacher to develop his skills as President of the Chinese Orchestra. This dedication to self-improvement and willingness to learn from others exemplifies his adaptability and discipline. Recognising the challenges his CCA was facing, including declining interest and new members without musical backgrounds, he took proactive steps to revitalise the group. His focus on promoting a positive mindset and upholding the “musician’s spirit” not only improved the CCA’s performance but also fostered a more supportive and motivated environment. After he graduates, Si Kai aims to get into a Junior College (JC) as he looks forward to the rigour and challenge of a JC curriculum. No matter what happens, he is prepared to give his best and keep pushing forward. He is curious about what the future holds, is not afraid to venture into the unknown, and is prepared to face challenges. Congratulations, Si Kai!
