You can register a birth online if:

  • the child is born in Singapore
  • you’re the child’s biological parent
  • you have a credit or debit card

If your child is eligible, you can also apply for Baby Bonus and sign up for library membership at the same time. Check your child’s Baby Bonus eligibility.

If you’re unable to make payment with a credit or debit card, please walk-in to register your child’s birth at ICA building. Do bring along both parents’ identification documents and marriage certificate (if applicable).

What you’ll need

To complete the registration, you’ll need:

  • name, identification number, occupation, citizenship and marriage details of both parents (where applicable)
  • name and birth information of the newborn child
  • your credit or debit card details

One parent should start the birth registration as the main applicant, and the other parent (where applicable) will be required to confirm the details entered.

For more information about birth registration, visit the ICA website.

If one parent is not a citizen, permanent resident, or FIN holder

The main applicant may be asked to upload the following supporting documents:

If these documents are not in the English language, official translations will be required.

If both parents are not citizens, permanent residents, or FIN holders
