    Do you like butterflies? Would you like to contribute to a citizen science study? Join us for the Butterfly Watch, as part of the NParks Community in Nature Biodiversity Watch series, to help us learn more about our Butterflies!

    Butterfly Watch will take place between 25 May (Saturday) to 2 June (Sunday) 2024.

    Registration closes on 6 May 2024 (Monday).

    Signing Up
    To register, you would need an account with Volunteer.gov.sg. Please fill up all your information on your profile page (especially full name, email and contact number) for identification purposes.

    New Volunteers
    New volunteers to Butterfly Watch will need to undergo a compulsory online module (self-guided) and an on-site training on either 11 or 12 May morning (Saturday or Sunday) in order to run Butterfly Watch independently. Please choose the new volunteer role below based on the date of the on-site practical training that you can attend.

    If you are a new Butterfly Watch volunteer, sign up for 1 New Volunteer slot (based on your preferred date and time of the on-site practical training).

    If you are an Experienced Butterfly Watch volunteer, sign up for the experienced Volunteer slot.

    If you have difficulties with Volunteer.gov.sg, refer to this guide.

    Signing up as a Group
    To sign up as a Group (of maximum 5 pax), please think and input a same, unique Group Code in the opportunity question 'Group Code' when prompted. (e.g. ButterflyWatch123) for all members in your group that are registering for Butterfly Watch. We will group you together backend.

Experienced Volunteer

Signing up for this experienced volunteer role (below) means that you are an experienced Butterfly Watch volunteer (have participated in Butterfly Watch before - attended training, ran survey and submitted results at least once before).

The online module (self-guided) and other notes will be provided as refresher when you sign up. Should you like to attend the on-site practical training as a refresher, please sign up for this role and send an email to CIN@Nparks.gov.sg with the subject title '[BW M2024] Refresher Training Request'. Do note that priority will be given to new volunteers should there be no slots.

To sign up as a group with your friends/family/colleagues, do input the same unique Group Code in your registration.

*please ignore the date and time listed for actual survey as it is a substitute date for volunteer hour allocation. Volunteering hours are not given for training.

Time: 1hr time slots between 9.00 am - 12.00 pm, slots will be assigned prior to training date

Location: Singapore Botanic Gardens (Eco-Lake)

New volunteers to Butterfly Watch need to attend a compulsory online module (self-guided) and an on-site practical training at Singapore Botanic Gardens on either 11 or 12 May 2024 (Saturday or Sunday) morning.

Do remember to select BOTH compulsory training and actual survey* below when you sign up for this New Volunteer role.
